  7. NEW PUBLISHING PARTNER PRINT DRIVERS!
  8. When you use one of these NEW print drivers YOU MUST
  9.  ALSO COPY these NEW FONTS to your Publishing
  10.  Partner file disks.  Otherwise, Publishing Partner will
  11. crash when you attempt to print.  In short, the NEW print
  12. drivers require the NEW fonts for printing.  If you attempt
  13. to use a new print driver without copying over the new
  14. fonts, the program will crash when you attempt to print.
  15. The opposite is also true.
  16.  
  17. The new drivers MUST be used with v1.01 of Publishing
  18. Partner. If your not sure look on the back of your PP master
  19. for the version number.  If you have v1.00, make sure you are
  20. registered and you will receive the new version automatically.

  22. WHEN YOU SELECT "PRINT," THE PRINTER WILL NOT
  23. START PRINTING IMMEDIATELY.
  24. Publishing Partner now uses the available free RAM 
  25. hen calculating a page before printing.  Before, Publishing
  26. Partner would print 32K of information and then stop
  27. printing , recalculate and then restart.  Now, Publishing
  28. Partner calculates as much of the page as FREE RAM
  29. allows and then starts printing.  You may have to wait up
  30. to 3 to 5 minutes before the printer starts printing.  The
  31. time estimates are relative to the complexity of the page
  32. and free RAM.

  34. MORE ABOUT THE NEW FONTS
  35. The new fonts included with this download are "line" fonts
  36. up to 13 points.  Therefore the smaller point sizes print
  37. faster and look nicer than our original "fill" fonts.
  38. However, the line fonts do not allow you to print in
  39. "shadow" or "outline."  Using the Publishing Partner font
  40. editor, you can change the "cut off" point where fonts
  41. change from "line" fonts to "fill" fonts.  You can see the
  42. difference by experimenting with the different point sizes.
  43.  
  44. The new print drivers contain the following improvements:
  45.  
  46. 1.  Tabs past white space when printing a page (faster)
  47. 2.  Uses FREE RAM when printing a page (faster)
  48. 3.  Supports proper printing of odd size pages
  49. 4.  Improves the clarity of small point sizes
  50.  
  51. You can now desktop publish with wide carriage printers.
  52.  Try this with a Macintosh computer system (Ha).  If you
  53. are using a wide carriage Epson compatible printer, use
  54. the "FX286" print drivers.
  55.  
  56. The following is a list of printer drivers, the prints
  57. compatible with that print driver, and the resolution you
  58. will obtain, and a note if it's an UNTESTED driver.  This is
  59. by no way complete.  If you have a printer that works, and
  60. is unlisted, please leave me a note on compuserve or genie.
